@hand Announces DTE Energy as New Customer

DTE Energy Selects the @hand Field Mobility System to Support Enterprise Mobility Initiatives

AUSTIN, Texas - June 24, 2011 - DTE Energy, a leading energy and utilities provider, has selected @hand’s Field Mobility System (FMS) as its enterprise mobility software standard to support the company’s mobile asset management and maintenance operations.

Leveraging @hand FMS software, DTE will deploy mobile applications to field technicians responsible for routine and non-routine maintenance activities. The @hand solution will allow mobile technicians to track work activities and to exchange data with enterprise systems with always-available and secure mobile applications.

“DTE Energy has experience with a variety of mobile technologies, and we believe @hand provides a current solution and future vision consistent with our efforts to enable employees via mobile asset management and tools,” said Ed Nickolite, manager of business applications for DTE Energy.

The initial mobile solution deployment will address corporate facilities management, and future solutions are planned to support a variety of asset management and supply chain processes, including those involved in power generation operations. @hand software will interface with DTE Energy’s central business systems, which include IBM Maximo® and SAP®.

“@hand customers like DTE Energy embrace high-value, low-risk mobile technologies to improve asset uptime, increase labor productivity, and streamline maintenance activities,” said John Cannington. “Since maintenance costs can account for 5-15% of total plant production costs, incremental improvements in maintenance operations can produce significant financial benefits.”
